Overheard in Hahvahd Square, People's Republic of Cambridge

"...she went down to Cuba last month and she's going to be writing a two-page article about it for Socialism Now."

Or maybe it was Socialism Today, or Socialism Weekly or even the good old Socialist Worker--America's own Pravda since the early 20's--or something else similarly fucking stupid. I don't remember exactly. Needless to say, should I get the job in Miami, there's one thing I don't ever expect to hear there. Nor will I miss it.

Yeah, that's why I don't miss Santa Cruz much.

Da comrade. I believe you might be likely to hear something similar in almost any collegiate setting. I was attending Lousiana Tech (north-central Louisiana), the middle of conservative-ville, and we got stuff like this. I'm sure it's more common there though.

Someone I used to work with went on holiday to Cuba and complained that the toilets there aren't very nice. Yeah, that's the problem with Cuba.

Squander, I hope you pointed out that the toilets are better at Gitmo.

Be sure to check the personal ads in the Daily Worker- it worked for George Costanza
