Damn, it's fucking pouring outside. I guess that gives me more than enough excuse (as if much were needed) to not go to work for a few hours today like, for whatever insane reason, I told myself I was going to.
UPDATE: Ah yes, lost power as expected. At least it was only a few minutes.
VERY RANDOM UPDATE: I suddenly really have a need for Thai food. Green Curry Duck especially.

Posted by: Alan K. Henderson at July 22, 2006 02:35 PMGreen Curry Duck? It sounds so... EWWWWWWWWWWW....
Posted by: Julie at July 22, 2006 05:10 PMGreen curry almost anything isn't EWWWWWWWWWW - it's YUMMMMMMMMMMM!
Ummm.... unless you are one of those wimps who don't like spicy food. ;)
Posted by: Kathy K at July 22, 2006 05:45 PMDoes Green Curry Squid gross you out even more, Julie? Somehow I hope it does. :-p
Posted by: Dave J at July 22, 2006 05:48 PMIf it doesn't make you sweat or cry, it's not spicy.
Posted by: Brian B at July 22, 2006 06:13 PMBah...if it's spicy and it makes you sweat or cry, your a complete wimp. No spice should ever do that.
Posted by: Emily at July 22, 2006 06:36 PMOK, I confess, I am NOT a native Texan.
I.... am a.... (gasp)... WIMPY CALIFORNIAN (who is temporarily residing in the Jalapeno State).
Gosh I feel so much better, getting that out of my system.
(Adding to my list of Green Things I Don't Eat: Eggs, Ham, Tomatoes, Jalapenos, and now Curry)
Posted by: Julie at July 22, 2006 07:18 PMHow can you not eat jalapenos, Julie? There's not much better in the world than a cheddar stuffed jalapeno. MMMMMMM...even my wimpy dog would eat a jalapeno if it had cheese in the middle of it. (Yes, I fed my dog hot peppers. I also fed him bananas and carrots. The little mutt would eat anything.)
I'll admit, I'm a little scared of curry. The only time I had it was when I was 8 and I don't think I liked it. I think I'd be more likely to try a bite off of a friend's plate rather than order it for myself.
Posted by: Bitter at July 22, 2006 09:23 PMI just keep thinking, "What did that duck ever do to *you*, Dave?"
Bleh.
Posted by: Julie at July 22, 2006 09:33 PMPower outage in Florida in the summer time? It is the lightning-strike capital of America. I assume that everything has battery back-up (clocks, PC, etc.)
Rain is still better than snow.
Posted by: Zendo Deb at July 24, 2006 04:29 AMJungle curry - I usually don't want the coconut milk.
Satay (affectionately known as green-pork-on-a-stick when I was in college - the green is spices people)
spring rolls
lemon grass soup.... Yummmmm!
If spices don't make you sweat just a little, you are using enough or the right kinds.
Posted by: Zendo Deb at July 24, 2006 04:32 AMDry as a bone here.
For months.
SO quit whining, you whiney baby. YOU'RE the one who moved back.
And what DID that duck ever do to you?
