KG wants a link to his Musical Geography Question - Parrothead edition. I'm a bit of a fan but I don't know any of them.
I don't know Brian's return Musical Geography Question either, which means it's probably a Pink Floyd song. Welcome back, Brian!
Posted by Ken S at July 22, 2006 12:08 PM | TrackBack (0) |Hardly, it's Johnny Cash. Blasphemer.
But thank you for the welcome.
Posted by: Brian B at July 22, 2006 01:02 PMNow I feel bad for not recognizing a Johnny Cash song.
Posted by: Ken S, Fifth String on the Banjo of Life at July 22, 2006 01:32 PMThanks for the link
Posted by: KG at July 22, 2006 01:34 PMOh my god, you are such a loser, Ken. It's one thing to not know Pink Floyd. The therapy has helped me to learn to deal with my phobias when it comes to people with this affliction. But Johnny Cash? Dude, you might as well have the plague.
Posted by: Emily at July 22, 2006 01:39 PMYeah, well, I guess I fell asleep that day...
Posted by: Ken S, Fifth String on the Banjo of Life at July 22, 2006 02:16 PMI think it's the mistaking Johnny Cash for Pink Floyd mistake that's the worst. In which case, you were probably asleep for a decade. But what more should we expect from our very own Tragically Unhip? I'd say we're overdue for another T.U.C.K.S. post...
Posted by: Emily at July 22, 2006 02:28 PMWell - I got a few of the Buffett ones.. and left a few more.
Brian's sounded awful familiar - but I had to google it... (and yes, I do know the song - just couldn't remember it)
Posted by: Kathy K at July 22, 2006 02:32 PMOh, I didn't mistake Cash for Floyd. The Floyd comment was because there have been several of these questions that I didn't get, and practically ALL of the ones I didn't get have been Floyd.
Posted by: Ken S, Fifth String on the Banjo of Life at July 22, 2006 03:42 PMAnd yes, we are most certainly overdue for a T.U.C.K.S episode. Perhaps I shall do so soon...
Posted by: Ken S, Fifth String on the Banjo of Life at July 22, 2006 03:43 PMI don't recall ever using a Floyd song in mu musical geography quizzes....
Posted by: Brian B at July 22, 2006 04:38 PMWell, in your unfortunate absence, several of us kept up the tradition, and some of us (not me, of course) used Floyd songs, of which I know practically nothing.
Posted by: Ken S, Fifth String on the Banjo of Life at July 22, 2006 05:12 PMAh. Good save.
Posted by: Brian B at July 22, 2006 05:32 PMOh, piffle. I'm surprised he didn't guess Warren Zevon.
Posted by: Nightfly at July 23, 2006 10:20 AMWell, yeah, since it was BRIAN that kept knocking me off with Zevon...
Posted by: Ken S, Fifth String on the Banjo of Life at July 23, 2006 01:01 PMIt's not technically a Johnny Cash song, though Johnny's recording is the famous one.
I've heard that Blind Willie Johnson wrote it, but that's difficult to substantiate. But it seems plausible and likely.
Posted by: Sigivald at July 25, 2006 12:23 PMYeah, it's also known that Johnny stole Folsom Prison Blues, but he has a way of making ANY song his, regardless of who wrote it.
