Watch This Space

Val is liveblogging, hopefully, the demise of the tyrant who has enslaved Cuba for nearly 50 years. The rumors are non-stop, of course, but one dares to dream that this is, in fact, real. It cannot ever be soon enough.

Oh that is my happy place today. There are few people that I wish would truly suffer in this world. He's one of them.

Fidel, go TOWARD the light!

Not quite yet, Ken. Let someone get in there and torture him first, then he can go toward the light.

The light? It would be more than he deserved, I daresay. Viva Cuba libre!

Told my kids a few years back that I'd love to be someplace like Miami- hell, ANYPLACE with a population of people of Cuban descent- when the word comes through that Feedel has kicked the bucket.

Can you say 'party'?

A possibility, but we must look at the glass as half full.

From what little I can gather about him, Raul is worse except that he probably can't inspire the loyalty of the thugs necessary to keep him in power.

Sadly though, I suspect he will just be replaced by other thugs.

Reports from his "allies" (read: Commie bastards) are saying that he's recovering. Poopshit.
