A new addition to the family

Daughters Number One and Two now have a new little bro:

We went to the local animal shelter on Sunday and he just looked up at us with the sweetest little eyes. He was a stray, very skinny, with a small leg problem (possible puppyhood injury), and they guess him to be about two years old.

We played with him for about a half hour and decided he was ours. He wasn't available for adoption until yesterday, so the Sainted Bride went there at lunch to fill out the papers. She couldn't pick him up until today because he had to have certain surgeries (hence the Conehead), but he was waiting when I got home from work tonight.

We haven't come up with a name yet, but we're leaning toward "Wily" because in some of the pictures we took to send to the kids, he looks like a vaguely psychotic coyote.

See what I mean? His sisters have been ordered to come up with name nominations so we'll see what they say. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. But I'm still leaning toward "Wily".

Cute, but one nit: The Coyote's name was Wile E., not Wily.

He's SO CUTE! :-) I think Wiley is a good name. That was the name of the greyhound who died when the house 2 doors down blew up, so it would be nice if someone carried on the name (if that's not too morbid...).

And, it's not a Conehead. It's a satellite dish. Really, he's probably picking up Radio Moscow.

Anyway, congrats to you and your family! :-) And Hi to Sainted for me -- I never get to talk to her, just you! :-/

I like Wile E. as a name for the sweet little guy... but he is almost too cute for that.

He's darling.

Well, maybe we'll work on the spelling (and yes, Brian, I know that, but I make a habit of shooting real coyotes).

I dunno, Ken, that last photo shows him with glowing eyes, so I'd lean more towards "Balrog" myself.

He's ADORABLE!! You will have to join a dog-blog carnival now. LOL! Congrats on the new addition!

Looks like quite the cute pup. I'm willing to bet there will be much mischief ahead in the Summers' home.

Balrog - *snort*

So far no mischief, he's very well-behaved. I don't know about a carnival, but I'll post more pics when he's finished with the satellite dish.

Balrog-Haha. Given the reason for the cone, I'm guessing(and approve of), how about "Blanks".

Posted by: Dave E. at October 25, 2006 07:46 AM

Yeah, that would be pretty accurate.

AWWWW! What a sweetie!

He's perfect! And the dish is fun in its own way.

Has he gotten stuck under the kitchen table yet? When my dog was spayed, she ended up banging around under there and all I heard was "thunk-a-thunk-a-plunk-thunk-thwack!"

Good memories.

By the way, Ken, if you're worried about the loss of his manhood, there's always neuticles.
