Cool

So after being so mean to some people, I thought I'd at least offer a different earworm to replace "Red Rubber Ball" in the collective consciousness. I went searching for "Yesterday's Gone" by Chad and Jeremy. Not only did I learn that they are still touring, I found this highly entertaining promo. Enjoy.

Why is it that some of these past acts (at least, the ones who are still with us) seem so much more
1. entertaining
2. personable
3. articulate

than what is currently popular? Is it just me, or is it actually that musicians have changed?

(And I LOVE "Summer Song.")

Their voice have actually gotten better with age, unlike some crooners (Neil Diamond comes to mind... the last time I saw him in concert 10+ years ago, he sounded an awful lot like Anthony Newley.) (and I do mean awful...)

And yes (siiiiigh) I do remember that Batman episode.... (bring me my walker, will ya sonny?)

I always loved their sound. Lot of rockers from the 50s and 60s (and yeah, the [cough] 70s) I like, but these guys just sound great no matter what style they sing.

And Julie, not only do I remember that "Batman" episode, I remember that "Dick van Dyke Show" episode.

In reruns, of course. Yeah, that's the ticket...

Julie - so naturally you thought to yourself, "If you don't stop doing your Anthony Newley, I will throw you against the wall." =)

The King of Dead Voices has to be Rod Stewart. Heavens but he sounds like he gargles with DDT.
