RIP, Mrs. Cold Fury

This is horrible, horrible news. I just don't have any words.

Aw man, how awful.

Isn't it? I just don't even know what to say. So sudden and tragic. Unbelievable. I hope Mike makes it through okay. He's such a great guy.

It's just awful. Too much dying going on around here these past few days.

Such shocking news. Not registered at his site, so couldn't say anything there. As if there were words for this. Just horrible. My best to Mike.

At least when it's news of relatives dying from a lingering sickness, grandparents...it doesn't hurt near as far. But shit like this? No. Just NO.

Mike has a great message posted now, complete with a beautiful picture. It could be any of us tomorrow, for any random reason. Never take any last moment for granted. Crap, this hurts so much. HURTS.

What a painfully perfect picture....

Marc,
Isn't she just too beautiful for words? Isn't that picture just..too sweet for me to type between tears?

Posted by: Emily at July 24, 2007 07:38 PM

I can't get over this. Mike may not remember what an encouragement he was to me back in the old days. I was so happy for him, finding a True Lady that stunning. People that nice and kind don't deserve this. No human does. I am typing this through tears. TEARS.

That picture, within the context, just says so much. Him wanting nothing more than to be touching and looking at her, not posing for the camera. And she is looking out with such a spark. It's almost too intimate to look at.

I remember well how kind and supporting he was to Juan Gato (hell, he interviewed me at least once and I think twice). My heart is just broken for him.

Marc,
If I hang up on the internet, will you call me?

Posted by: Emily at July 24, 2007 08:00 PM

oh goddammit to hell, i just looked at the update you mentioned, em, and now i'm sitting here balling like a baby at my desk. it's so sad.

Posted by: Mr. Bingley at July 25, 2007 05:59 AM

oh, dammit, that sucks. It wasn't a blog I read regularly but I still hurt for him...

What with this, and that coach killed by a line drive at the Travelers game, this has been a sucky week. Ack.

Mike is in my prayers, and that picture is lovely. She was a beautiful person inside AND out, it seems. What a tragedy.

Thanks so much, Em, and you too, Mr Bingley. And nightfly, boy, did you ever just say a mouthful.

And Emily, you're pretty damned great yourself. Y'all may not know it, but Emily was the first "name" blogger out there to ever link me, way back when she was quitting smoking. I've never forgotten how thrilled I was. Time sure does fly, don't it?

Thanks to all of you, I should say. I had this page open from last night and only just now got a chance to post my response, and didn't refresh the window before doing so. You're all too kind, and I can't even begin to adequately express my gratitude.

I just can't believe it. I hung out with Mike a couple of times when he came to New York with his band - wonderful guy, so much fun - I'm just shocked. It's so f*ing sad.
