Okay, this is a bit of a cop out but I'm tired and shagged out following a prolonged squawk work week, and I'm using up the tiny little bit of free time I have trying to copy my home movie DVDs for family. I've successfully copied them as is, though I would like to be able to rearrange one of them into something resembling a coherent order. Thanks again to the folks who gave me pointers to Ulead. I think I'll try it soon but time's running short before I meet up with family so I'm going to just give it to them as is and make it better after deer season.
Meantime, I took Merle with me again on my ride so not too much new on the trivia front. Hence, ergo, and therefore, I will fall back on one of my favorite groups from high school. I love these guys. I know that Kenny Loggins went on to do some material after they parted ways, though "Footloose" is really the only song he did afterward that I liked much. Anybody know what Jimmy Messina did after? I totally lost track of him. Perhaps he retired. No idea.
Anyway, here's an even dozen questions about my homies L&M:
1) You're just about to move in and you're thinking it's a breeze. But what happens and why? [Christina: There's a light in your eye and then a guy says "Out of the car, long hair!" And it's all because your Mama don't dance and your Daddy don't rock and roll]
2) I've got backstage passes to the big show in town. What do I love? [Julie: I love my music]
3) We ain't got money, but everything will bring what? [Christina: Everything will bring a chain of love]
4) So help me if you can, I've got to get back to where? [Christina: Back to the house at Pooh Corner by one]
5) What a shot you could be, if what? [Christina: If you could shoot at me with those angry eyes. And I bet you wish you could cut me down with them]
6) I want to get away and live my life where? [Julie: In the rivers and trees]
7) Whenever you're near me, what do you have me doing? [Julie: Thinking of you]
8) It goes further and further from things that we've done. What are we doing? [Julie: Watching the river run]
9) If there's summer thunder on moon-bright days, what do I want to sing? [Julie: I want to sing you a love song]
10) Every day seems a little brighter and every load feels a little lighter. Why? [Julie: Because I'm coming to you]
11) It's a big, big world and you're a big, big girl. But all you've got to do is phone if you ever get what? [Julie: The travelin' blues]
12) I was sitting at a table in an open café waiting for a drink of rum. When I asked my waiter for the time of day, what did he say? [Julie: He said, "Look out, there's a centipede coming your way"]
I'm just kicking myself that I can't remember more of these. They're so familiar I know I could hum along with probably at least 8 or 9 of them. Oh well, here's the ones I can think of.
1. There's a light in your eye and then a guy shouts "Out of the car, long hair! Louise, you're coming with me."
3. Everything will bring a chain of love.
4. I've got to get back to the house at Pooh Corner by one.
5. What a shot you could be if you could look at me with those angry eyes. (I *think* it's look, anyway.)
And I'm going crazy trying to place the others, so I'll just stop now.
