He was not expected to live.
If he lived, he was expected to have irreversible brain damage (read: "vegetable").
As of Thanksgiving, we thought he was, at best, still in long-term PT (and whatever the brain equivalent is).
Saturday, we got a call from him. He's home and sounds great ("I probably sound better than I am but...").
How's that for a flippin' miracle?
