Good evening everybody, and welcome to another edition of Name That Caliber!
Tonight, we're loading 7 grains of Hercules Unique behind a 240 grain unjacketed semi-wadcutter.
What caliber are we loading?
UPDATE: Asked and Answered, and I didn't really expect an answer, but the Mighty Roland comes through with the correct response of .44 Special loading in .44 Magnum cases. And after that I decapped and resized 60 cases of... well, perhaps I'll hold onto that for another edition.

Posted by: The_Real_JeffS at November 25, 2007 03:55 PMWell, in point of fact, I haven't fired any of them yet. City kind of frowns on that. But I did load up 50 rounds of it, which I will fire off when I get the chance.

Posted by: Tainted Bill at November 25, 2007 05:13 PMDude, I'm ashamed of you. Everyone knows that 7 grains of Unique is far too little to use in a plasma rifle. Obviously it takes at least 45 grains of IMR 4350.
Which I am out of, by the way. I may have to substitute a smaller load of IMR 3031.
Posted by: Ken S, Fifth String on the Banjo of Life at November 25, 2007 05:17 PMWell, then, by extrapolation, Ken, you can shoot 41.66666666667 or 50. :-D
BTW, 40 watts ain't enough for a light bulb; it's akin to bringing a knife to a gunfight. Man's gotta have a kilowatt phased plasma rifle, or not at all.

= .45 Colt
With that, I've moved your site to the Gunnies list.

= .45 Colt or .45 ACP?
With that, I've moved your site to the Gunnies list at Traction Control.
Posted by: USCitizen at November 25, 2007 10:04 PMOops - sorry 'bout the double tap.
Posted by: USCitizen at November 25, 2007 10:07 PMNot 45 Colt but 44 Smith&Wesson Special. the give away was 240 grains not 255 grains which gives 45 Colt. If you had said 10 grains of Unique I would have said 44 Magnum.
Posted by: Roland at November 26, 2007 11:01 AMAnd Roland nails it on both counts. I loaded up 50 rounds of .44 mags to .44 special velocities.
Posted by: Ken S, Fifth String on the Banjo of Life at November 26, 2007 11:50 AMWell, given how short your barrel is you need all the help you can get, Ken...
Posted by: Mr. Bingley at November 26, 2007 11:56 AMPerhaps, but at least we in California still have some opportunity to own them...
