Quote of the Day

Regarding this fervent prayer that "future refugee troglodytes" be disenfranchised by their liberal betters:

Be Careful What You Wish For, Unarmed Pussies
The man does have a way with words.

Sure, Boston, New York and Philadelphia will be threatened, but these are geographically confined areas that could lend themselves to protection by Dutch-style dikes.

Yeah, but they're all in Amsterdam, wearing leather and ogling each other. (Couldn't resist.)

I don't even know where to begin with this one. Just as a fr'instance, does this manure-for-brains seriously think that cities like New York and Boston are better equipped to ride out a flood (assuming one ever happens) than places where we aren't all living jammed up nose to asshole? The streams of refugees are a lot more likely to be going the other direction. And be assured, we don't want them here, either.

Dave Lindorff shouldn't have stopped at looking at a US elevation map - he should have also checked out this map of major oil reserves in the lower 48. Keep in mind that the red staters have no compunction against offshore drilling.

I guess the Left really does need alternate energy sources :-)

Oops, that's the map for the coal reserves - appears on this page. The oil reserves map is shown here. There's a fair bit of overlap between oil and coal regions, and we dominate 'em both.

Anyone wanna invest in offshore coal mining?

He also forgets that on the West Coast, the liberal population centers ARE at lower elevations on the coast, and the dry high ground is mostly rural and conservative.
