Dear "American Idol" Person

Hi. How are you? We're fine. Thanks for asking. Would you mind if I take a moment, please? Yeah. Good. Have a seat.

What the fuck are you looking for? Don't get me wrong. You're more than welcome to use the search function of this site to look for "American Idol" once every couple of hours a day if you like. It's no skin off of our nose. The thing is, I don't really think Ken or Dave watch that show very often, and if they do, they don't post about it. I've seen it once or twice, but it never caught my interest, so I certainly don't have anything to say about it myself.

Again, I'm not telling you to go away or anything. I'm just trying to save you a little time by letting you know that 1) the search function for this site only searches this site only, not the entire internet, so 2) looking up "American Idol" shall remain, as it has been, utterly fruitless and 3) may I suggest that you check out these fine folks if you're wanting someone to talk with about the show.

Cheers.

What? You mean every blog on the planet is not singularly devoted to the happenings on American Idol? Seriously?

Wow...you really do learn something new every day!

More power to the ones that are, but this person has been entering "American Idol" in the search engine here every day, several times a day, for months. Maybe they're desperately hoping we'll start watching and posting about the show. I don't know. It's just so friggin' weird to me that someone would be that compulsive about it.

Okay, I'll stop now.

I know it wasn't you, Ken. Nice try.

Could it be some kind of 'bot seeking to spam AI posts?

Other than that, I don't know. I imagine some very frustrated person sitting somewhere in front of a computer going, "Dammit! I keep ASKING for them to write about American Idol and THEY WON'T LISTEN TO ME!!!!!"

That said, as a non-watcher of American Idol, I welcome the posts about other stuff. I'm glad that not every blog has gone all-AI, all-the-time.

It could be, Ricki. I don't know. I know Ken has mentioned the show once or twice, so it would seem to be that if a bot was trying to spam posts specific to the show, some would have shown up under those, but nothing has.

That's pretty much the picture I had in my head too, because the searches are almost daily and they happen every couple of hours. It's very strange.

I wonder if s/he is related to Mr. Bingley's friend Jane

Sheila was also getting those daily searches of her site for "sheila fashions" not too long ago. Whatever those might be.

I remember that, Kate. That post she wrote was hilarious. I think I even mentioned something about our "American Idol" friend when she did. That's how persistant this person is being. Weeks and weeks of this stuff.
