Summer Flicks

Sheila posted a great photo of a billboard for one of the upcoming summer blockbusters a lot of us have been waiting for.

There are a few other posters that have started making the rounds for another film I'm really, really looking forward to.

Below the jump.

This one actually gives me the chills.

This one is pretty awesome, too.

We meet again, Dr. Jones!

As a huge fan of both Indiana Jones and Batman, I'm really just at a loss for words (and you know that's pretty rare).

Today April 3rd is the 126th anniversary of Jesse
James being shot in St. Joseph,Mo.by Robert Ford.
I think it fits in with this story.

Sheila, Dave...they're both just so haunting. And not just because of what happened to Heath Ledger. That adds a whole new mindfuck. On their own, they're really disturbing and intriguing. The kind of poster that makes you want to see the movie without telling you hardly anything about it, even if you'd never heard of Batman. There's another one, of Batman with his back turned, looking out the window of a high rise, with the Gotham cityscape at night sweeping in front of him and reflected on the floor of the room he's standing in. Have you seen it? It's pretty damn awesome, too.

Batman done right. I am really looking forward to this one - even if I did think that Michael Keaton would have made a great choice for the Joker.

From what I'm hearing about Heath Ledger in this one, NF, I don't expect you'll be disappointed.

Posted by: Emily, Xenu's Handmaiden at April 4, 2008 10:04 AM

Wait.... Michael Keaton, the definative Batman, as the Joker? Wow, what an interesting thought, 'Fly.

Just gotta say, between Dark Knight Returns and Iron Man (namelink), this is gonna be a good movie year. And Indy looks pretty good too. :)

Julie - I know, I was surprised when I thought of it; but he'd be great. I do agree with Emily that Heath (bless him) will also be fine.

My best friend in grade-school moved to Indiana and I never saw him again. Drove through Indiana once and didn't stop the car. Sheesh already.

Lyrics to "Adam West" by the Caped Club

The Penguin and his ten goons
Are plotting in a back room
POW! **BASH** BOOM BAM**
In leaps the Bat Man
Making life safe again
For all the Gotham citizens
He's so bitchin', he's so brave.
It's back to the Batcave

He's got cool, and savoir faire
In his cape and cowl and his grey underwear
Who is the hero that we like best?
Got to be the Bat Man.
Got to be Adam West
Adam West

I always cheer, I always squeal
When he cries out "To the Bat-Mobile"
Commissioner's on the Bat-Phone
Talking to the duo
Joker has escaped again then
Just to learn
Gotta rev it up, rev it up
Emergency bat turn

Each bad guy he always gets
How does he stay dry? He never sweats
Which antiperspirant does he like best?
Gotta ask the Bat-Man, gotta ask Adam West
Adam West Adam West

You can have you're Mr. Spock
You can have your Superman
You can have your Ronald Reagan
You can be an Elvis fan
Sure they're heroic
Sure they astound
But they can't hold a candle
To the Bat-est guy around.

You see him at conventions, and shopping malls. Meeting all his fans, he's sure got - guts
I comb the TV Guide for Bat-Man's best
Tune'n into Bat-Man, Tune'n into Adam West
Adam West Adam West
Adam West Adam West

I'll get myself a Bat-Suit
Then I'll be lookin' real cute
I'll somersault all over town
I'll find Cat-Woman, we'll get down
I'll build my arms, I'll pad my ches
So I can look like Adam West
He'll be the hero of the nation
For a zillion generations

He's got cool, and savoir faire
In his cape and cowl and his grey underwear
Who is the hero that we like best?
Got to be the Bat Man.
Got to be Adam West
Adam West

He's wrestled giant clams
He's been almost BAR-B-Q'd
But he always gets away
Just when you thought he was screwed
He's beaten up the Joker
The Riddler, and the others
But now his greatest foes
Are the folks at Warner Brothers.

"Will their big budget blockbuster be a Bat-Bomb?"
"Will Bat-Fans care that Bat-Man is also Mr. Mom?"
"Tune in tomorrow, to learn the rest"
'Cause I'll be watching Bat-Man
Bat-Man staring Adam West
Adam West Adam West
Adam West Adam West
