Posted by: Ken S, Fifth String on the Banjo of Life at April 24, 2008 08:06 AMIt's probably Friday in the Far East. Go for it.
Posted by: nightfly at April 24, 2008 09:08 AM(I was going to make the Jimmy Buffet joke and say, "It's always Friday somewhere" but nightfly beat me to it.)
(And yes, I know it's not "always Friday somewhere" but I do think with the International Date Line it probably IS Friday in Australia or Guam....)

(You didn't just put gas in the car, did you? I thought my bank account cried last night.)
Posted by: Kate P at April 24, 2008 12:01 PMCullen, by the logic of the story you linked to, we should base all our time zones on Jerusalem, since the Jews were here long before the Muslims.
Or maybe somewhere in China or India, because I think the Buddhists were before them.
Or maybe base it on some place in the Kalihari desert, where we think humans first came out of the trees and began the long march forward to what will probably be our eventual destruction...fighting over something like "where do we base 0 hour?"

Posted by: nightfly at April 24, 2008 02:13 PMIf we really are starting the thread early, I nominate that stupid twit at Yale. And her stupid advisers, and her stupid friends who are supporting her puerile "art".
